Prodigies is a colorful, fun and effective approach to teaching children music literacy, music theory, pitch training and their first instrument(s) during the critical period for auditory development. Early Pitch Exposure
Developing a strong tonal center is essential for musicianship, particularly during the formative years of a child's musical education. This process can be achieved by placing emphasis on the individual musical notes and their relationships to one another. By encouraging children to identify, isolate, and engage with each note, we allow them to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation for the structure of music. This foundational skill not only helps in building their musical ear but also enhances their overall cognitive development, as they learn to discern nuances in sound and pitch.
Brain-based Vocabulary
One effective way to internalize the sound of musical notes is to engage in a multifaceted learning approach that incorporates hand signs, numerical representations, and color coding. By integrating these various elements—hand signs, numbers, and colors—students and musicians alike can develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of music, as well as improve their ability to recognize and reproduce the sounds of musical notes with greater accuracy and confidence.
